Musk says Grok Bot can place calls, but release notes don't list it yet

News · Oct. 26, 2026

Elon Musk posted Oct. 25 that Grok Bot "can now call someone or a business for you, make a request on your behalf, take notes on the response and send you a note summarizing the conversation!"

The official Grok Bot changelog did not list the feature as of 7:46 a.m. CT Oct. 26. Its newest entry was v0.75.5, dated Oct. 23. It listed no 0.77 release and no calling feature.

Musk's post, made at 9:35 a.m. CT Oct. 25, had about 2.57 million views as of 7:46 a.m. CT Oct. 26, according to X. It quoted an Oct. 24 post from @alexmichaelio that said "Grok Bot 0.77 looks INSANE" and described a Calls feature in which "your Bot can dial someone, sit on hold, press keys and get transferred while you watch a live transcript."

That post tied other items to 0.77. It described a Messages on Mac setup screen under Connect Apps that was "still switched off." It said Grok Bot "can join your private tailnet once an admin approves it" through Tailscale. And it described Payments as "a screen to connect payment accounts and pick a default." SpaceXAI has not confirmed any of those details in its release notes.

Brian Roemmele, who built the Call A Restaurant Reservation template, quoted Musk's post Oct. 25 and wrote that "with version 0.77 we will have this integrated!"

The release notes don't say when 0.77 ships or which plans and countries would get Calls. They also don't say whether the Bot would tell the person on the line that it is an AI or whether calls would be recorded.
