# Grok Bot 0.71.2 allows 20 attachments a message and 1 GB videos

*News · Oct. 20, 2026*

Grok Bot users can attach up to 20 files to one message, send files up to 250 MB and videos up to 1 GB, and get Bot alerts on their Mac or Windows PC instead of their phone while they use it, according to release notes SpaceXAI posted for Grok Bot 0.71.2.

The changelog entry is dated Oct. 14 and "also includes 0.71.0 and 0.71.1," so this is not a new release. The Daily Bot, an independent newsletter, reported that the notes went up the afternoon of Monday, Oct. 19, and that users were already reporting problems with 0.71.2 by Oct. 16.

Here is what changed for everyday users, in the changelog's words where it matters.

## Files and attachments

"One message can carry up to 20 attachments instead of 6, and a notice says how many weren't added past the 200 MB total," the notes say.

Single files can now be up to 250 MB and videos up to 1 GB, "and the Bot says when a video is too large to watch." That change "requires Grok Bot 0.70.2 or later."

Attachments that share a file name are now numbered, such as report.pdf (2), so you can tell them apart.

## Alerts follow you

"While you use Grok Bot on a Mac or Windows PC, Bot replies and questions notify you there instead of your phone," the notes say. That also requires 0.70.2 or later. Grok Bot's mobile docs say the switch applies to notifications from Bots you own.

## Forms and checkout

"Forms a Bot asks you to fill in can arrive with known fields filled in, and you can edit them before you submit."

Bots now ask for logins and other multi-field details on one Secure Form, instead of a request card that holds a single value, and Secure Form "fills fields on more websites, including inside embedded frames from other sites."

At checkout, "Bots use card details or photos you send in chat, asking only for missing fields or a verification code in a Secure Form." GG compared the card-photo route with Secure Form and Link on Oct. 18 in [Musk says screenshot a credit card; here's what the docs offer instead](/bot-pay-card-screenshot-vs-secure-form/).

## Voice

"If a voice chat's connection drops, the call reconnects and continues the same conversation instead of ending." And "a voice call from your phone wakes the Bot's sleeping computer, so the Bot can work with what you said after the call."

Those two changes landed the same week the official @bot account said users with an iPhone 15 Pro or later can start a Bot voice chat from the iPhone's Action Button. See [how to set that up](/iphone-action-button-voice-chat/).

## Skills, routines, and X

Skills are saved how-tos a Bot can follow, and many plugins bring their own. "Bots can use up to 200 skills from your installed plugins instead of 24, so skills from plugins you add are no longer left out," the notes say.

"When a routine needs to sign in to a site, it asks you in chat at that step instead of quietly stopping." A routine is a saved job your Bot runs on a schedule.

"Bots hit X's rate limit less often when searching X or reading posts, and a rate-limited call no longer counts toward your X read limit."

## The Bot's computer

"When a Bot's computer runs low on disk, the Bot tells you once, names the biggest files, and deletes them only if you agree." Several fixes also target the Bot's computer when it is asleep or updating. One says, "When the Bot's computer updates, a working Bot reconnects to the new computer and keeps going."

## For Teams and Enterprise

The changelog labels these for business accounts:

- Team admins "can turn off Messaging between Bots under Bot capabilities on the dashboard, so members' Bots can't message or hand work to other Bots."

- Enterprise team admins "can recreate, terminate, or delete members' Grok Bot computers from Manage Bot Computers on the dashboard or through the Admin API."

The tagged email addresses that let a Bot send as name+shop@ are also in these notes. GG covered them Oct. 17 in [the Oct. 16 update story](/bot-oct-16-update-faster-x-chat/).

> **What to do with it**
> - **Check your version.** The bigger uploads and computer alerts need Grok Bot 0.70.2 or later.
> - **Send the whole batch.** Drop up to 20 receipts, photos, or PDFs into one message and ask for one summary, instead of feeding them in six at a time. Keep the batch under 200 MB.
> - **Hand your Bot a long video.** The notes allow videos up to 1 GB but also set a 200 MB total per message, and they don't say how the two limits fit together. If a video doesn't go through, the Bot should tell you.
> - **Revisit plugins you gave up on.** If a plugin's skills never seemed to show up, the 24-skill cap may have been why. Try it again.
> - **Card in chat or Secure Form?** Read [our Oct. 18 comparison](/bot-pay-card-screenshot-vs-secure-form/) before you send a card photo.
