# Using Grok Bot for Figma photomosaics (@mattyp)

*Beginner · How-to · [Beginner hub](/how-to/beginner/)*

On 2026-09-07, matt palmer ([@mattyp](https://x.com/mattyp/status/2097083263361958087)) published the X Article **Using Grok Bot: Figma Photomosaics**. Read that article for the images and the full prompt. This page steals the workflow shape for beginners.

## What you are making

A three-panel photomosaic: one hero asset componentized and split across three panels so the whole reads as one image on X. Designers already know the manual path. Matt's point is to offload the painful Figma assembly to a Bot connected to Figma so you keep attention on asset selection.

If you only want a ready template, Matt points at a share link inside the article: [https://x.ai/bot/dYpPe1PCZv2WJDVTYDwhc](https://x.ai/bot/dYpPe1PCZv2WJDVTYDwhc). Soft-hedge: share links and marketplace availability move; open the URL and trust what your account shows.

## Build it the way Matt describes

1. **Name the artifact correctly.** Ask Grok what the format is called if you do not know. Matt asked what to call a collage of three images assembled into a larger image, landed on "photomosaic," and used that accurate word in prompts.

2. **Reverse-engineer the canvas.** Look at existing three-panel posts on X. Build (or have the Bot build) a Figma canvas with a hero asset, componentized, split across three panels. Match aspect ratios to posts you can measure.

3. **Prompt the Bot to do the same steps you would.** Matt's general approach: break down how you would create the asset yourself, then prompt `@bot` to do exactly that inside Figma. Replace font, image link, and file placeholders with your assets. Use the optimized first prompt from his article rather than inventing a new one here.

4. **Watch every few minutes.** If autolayout fails, padding drifts, or a radius is wrong, ask why. Make the change. Note why it was needed. Fold that note into the next prompt.

5. **Back into a reusable first prompt.** Matt's first attempt was not perfect. He asked the Bot what it needed up front to get the job right on the first try, then reused that durable prompt (including for an iPad announcement post).

## Meta points worth stealing

- Start from a beginner's mindset: learn the terms and constraints before you scale the prompt.

- Always ask how you can duplicate the workflow so the next run needs less babysitting (Matt credits [@poteto](https://x.com/poteto) on that habit).

- For a one-off, a general Bot connected to Figma is enough. For repeated mosaic work, make a specialist later. Do not invent an install order from this page.

- Creative still owns emotion and asset selection. The Bot owns the repetitive Figma assembly once the prompt is right.

Open [@mattyp's article](https://x.com/mattyp/status/2097083263361958087) for the prompt text, screenshots, and template link. Do not paste someone else's Figma file credentials onto a shared Agent Computer without scrubbing.
