# Galaxy Support: five use cases and guardrails

*News*

Customer Support on Galaxy Day 2 was a short, dense pack: five standing jobs, then a wrap on how much autonomy you're willing to give a bot.

**David Gan** ran the session on the [X broadcast](https://x.com/i/broadcasts/1PKqrNyvmYwGb) about **6:05-6:29 CT**. Speaker name confirmed on stream.

## Five use cases (slide)

1. **Answer Support Tickets** - draft / send from public docs and policies

2. **Pre-Investigation** - root issue plus next steps before a human digs in

3. **Alerting** - SLA risk, frustrated user, or large customer locked out

4. **Internal Answers** - Slack answers from public and internal sources

5. **Improve the System** - find doc / answer gaps and propose fixes

Use these as a menu. Soft-check ticket send and any production write against your own approval bar before you leave Draft mode.

## Guardrails from the wrap

The "What we learned" slide framed autonomy in three tiers:

- **Read / alert-only** - bot watches and pings; humans still act

- **Approval-for-writes** - bot drafts ticket replies, Slack answers, or system changes; you click yes

- **Fully autonomous** - only where blast radius and policy already say that's safe

Same wrap also pushed two build habits:

- **Start simple**, then turn a working chat into a **Routine**

- **Build what's missing** instead of waiting on a vendor roadmap

That lines up with the standing [Grok Bot for Support](/grok-bot-for-support/) playbook on Guru (connectors, five jobs, routines). Soft-check the live [official guide](https://x.ai/bot/guides/grok-bot-for-support) if a connector or routine step moved.

## Soft-check before you leave support self-driving

- Public docs and internal sources are connected for the bots that need them.

- Ticket sends, refunds, and production writes stay behind approval until you write a higher bar.

- Alerting has a clear owner and channel so SLA pings don't die in a void.

- One workflow first; Routine second.
