# Your Bots share one cloud computer: how to watch it and step in

*Beginner · How-to · Oct. 31, 2026*

Every Grok Bot you run works on one cloud computer with a browser, a filesystem and a command line, according to [Grok Bot's documentation](https://cursor.com/docs/grok-bot/work). It keeps working when your laptop is closed, and files, sign-ins and browser sessions stay put between tasks.

That computer is separate from the one in front of you.

## What's shared and what isn't

- **Shared:** files, browser sessions, app sign-ins and command-line credentials. One Bot can pick up work another Bot saved.

- **Separate:** each Bot gets its own screen, so several Bots can use the browser at once, one computer task per screen at a time. Each Bot's conversation and memory also stay separate.

The docs say the screens are work surfaces, not security boundaries. If one of your Bots shouldn't use a password or key, don't put it on the computer. GG covered that boundary in [Your Bots share one computer](/shared-computer-not-sandbox/).

Between different people, the computers are kept strictly apart. Each user's computer is dedicated and hardware-isolated, the docs say.

## 1. Watch a Bot work

In a conversation, click the computer preview in the right-hand panel. You'll see the clicks, typing, page changes and status as they happen. You can leave the preview and the work keeps going. Closing the app doesn't stop it either.

## 2. Let it sign in the safe way

When a site needs a login, the Bot tries a login saved in the [Vault](/set-up-grok-bot-vault/) first, then a connected password manager such as 1Password, then asks you with a **Secure Form**. Vault and Secure Form values go into the page without the Bot seeing them.

Never paste a password or one-time code into ordinary chat. For an API key, use the secure secret card when the Bot asks.

## 3. Take over when it asks

Some steps a form can't handle. The docs list single sign-on, a passkey, a CAPTCHA it couldn't get past, an approval on another device, a QR code and a bank card check. The Bot hands you the computer for those.

Take control, finish only the blocked step and tell the Bot to continue. The signed-in session sticks around for later tasks and is shared across your Bots.

## 4. Keep important files in /workspace

The computer has a shared folder at `/workspace`. The docs say to keep lasting project files there in clear folders. Temporary folders and apps you install by hand can be lost when the computer is rebuilt, so copy important results into /workspace or attach them to the chat.

## 5. Know what touches your own computer

A Bot runs commands on your own machine only under the local execution setting. By default that means asking you for each command. You can change it to always allow, ask every time or never.

## What to do with it

- Open the computer preview the first few times a Bot does something new.

- Save logins in the Vault so you aren't typing passwords for the Bot.

- When the Bot hands you the screen, do the one step it asked for and hand it back.

- Treat everything on the computer as available to all your Bots.

- If a Bot is deleted, its files and sign-ins can stay on the computer. Clean them up separately.
