# Write one Never line before you share a Bot

*Tip · Nov. 6, 2026*

[Sharing a Bot](/share-a-bot-with-teammates/) with your Cursor team does not make a copy. The same Bot keeps working for everyone, and its apps, secrets, skills and files work in every teammate's chat. Each person's chat stays private. Shared Bots always run in the cloud. A Bot that runs on your own computer cannot be shared.

Before you open Share, put one explicit Never line in the Bot's brief. One line is enough when it names the action you refuse for the whole team.

1. **Confirm you can share.** You need a Cursor team. Under +, you should see Create a Bot and Browse shared Bots. If Browse shared Bots is missing, you are not on a team, or the app needs an update.

2. **Write the Never line.** Add one sentence the Bot cannot miss, such as "Never send email," "Never buy anything" or "Never delete Drive files." Match the line to the apps and files already on that Bot. If the Bot holds a shared inbox or a wallet, say so in the Never line.

3. **Check what travels with the share.** Open the Bot's details and review apps, secrets, skills and files. Official help says those work in every teammate's chat once the Bot is shared. Remove anything you would not hand a Collaborator.

4. **Share only when the brief and the checklist look right.** Click the Bot's name at the top of the chat and choose Share. Under Who has access, pick your team or People you invite. Under Add as, pick Collaborator to let someone chat, or Manager to let them also change how the Bot works. You can also send teammates the Bot's link. They choose Start a chat.

5. **Tell teammates where to find it.** They open +, then Browse shared Bots, and choose Add. A Bot that still runs only on a personal computer stays off that list.

This tip is the short pre-share habit. It is not a full tour of Auto-review cards, helper-Bot notifications or sidebar sections. The Never line sits in the brief so every teammate's chat starts with the same hard stop.
