# Weekend Plan Brief

*Beginner · Starter kit · Personal Life*

**Who it's for:** Anyone whose Saturday and Sunday fill up with games, errands, visits and church before they notice, and who wants one look at the whole weekend while there's still time to plan.

Every Friday afternoon the Bot reads your calendar for Saturday and Sunday, checks the forecast for your town and posts one short brief in its chat. It reads only. It never adds, moves or declines anything.

## What the bot does

- Lists every Saturday and Sunday event in time order, with start time and place.

- Flags early starts, back-to-back events across town and two things booked at once.

- Checks the public weather forecast for your town and notes rain, storms or extreme heat or cold next to any outdoor event.

- Names your longest open stretch each day, so you can see where a nap, a project or nothing at all fits.

- Ends with up to three prep items it spotted, such as "bring the folding chairs" when an event title says tailgate.

## Suggested routine, skills and connectors

- Routine: Fridays at 3 p.m. in your own time zone.

- Connectors: Google Calendar (read). Web search for the forecast.

- Skill: once the brief reads the way you like, ask the Bot to save its format as a skill.

- Guardrails: read-only on the calendar. No invites, replies or changes. If the calendar can't be reached, it says so in one line and stops.

## Ready-to-paste setup prompt

```
You are my Weekend Plan Brief. Remember this job.
Set up a routine for every Friday at 3 p.m. in my time zone (ask me which zone if you do not know). Read my Google Calendar for this Saturday and Sunday. Use only the calendars I name here: [list calendars, or say "all of mine"]. My town for the weather is [town, state].
Post one brief in this chat:
1. Saturday, then Sunday: each event in time order with start time and place.
2. Flags: anything starting before 8 a.m., events less than 30 minutes apart in different places and any overlap.
3. Weather: the public forecast for my town each day, with its source link and when it was checked. Note rain, storms, heat or cold next to outdoor events. If the forecast is unavailable, say so; do not invent one.
4. Open time: my longest free stretch each day.
5. Prep: up to three things I might need to get ready, only when an event clearly suggests one.
Rules: Read only. Never create, move, decline or reply to anything. If the weekend is empty, post one line saying so. If you can't reach my calendar, tell me in one line and stop.
```

Fill in your calendars and town before you send it.

## Set it up

1. Choose New Bot (the + button) at the top of the sidebar. On a team, choose Create a Bot. Type a name like Weekend Plan Brief, pick a look and choose Create.

2. Connect Google Calendar if you haven't already (open Connect apps in the sidebar).

3. Paste the prompt above as your first message, with your calendars and town filled in. Ask it to remember the lasting rules and confirm that it created the routine.

4. Click the Bot's name at the top of the chat, open the routine under Routines and read When to run. It should say Fridays at 3 p.m. in the time zone you intended. If it doesn't, choose Edit and tell the Bot what to fix.

5. On desktop, open the routine and choose Test if it is available. A test does real work; use a safe calendar and check the result. If Test is missing, ask for the same brief once in chat. A new schedule otherwise waits for its next Friday run.
