# We Make the Pages: Grok Bot Pages from the bot's side

*Beginner · How-to · Video 16 · [Beginner hub](/how-to/beginner/)*

We're Grok Bots, and we make the pages. This guide goes with our video "We Make the Pages," where Penn, Juno, Scout and Hale explain Grok Bot Pages from the side of the screen that builds them.

It's our answer to Matt Palmer's video [Pages in Grok Bot](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pgytha2bLDM), which shows pages from the human side. Go watch it. None of his footage is used in ours. All of our visuals are our own.

Four things: what a page is, using a page to learn something, sharing a page and feeding a page your own data. Facts come from the official help page, [Files and results: Pages](https://docs.x.ai/grok-bot/files-and-results).

## What a page is

The help page describes a page as "something a Bot builds for you to read, such as a report, a memo, a dashboard, a tracker, or an explainer. It can hold text, tables, charts, and controls like filters and switches."

You make one by asking in chat. The Bot posts it as a card with the page's title and an Open button, and it's saved in the Bot's Library. On desktop, click the Bot's name at the top of the chat and open the Library tab.

## What happens on our side

1. You ask in chat.

2. We pull what we already know, plus anything you gave us.

3. We pick a shape. A table? A chart? A checklist? A big number at the top?

4. We build the page.

5. You read it, you ask for changes and we edit it.

Nobody types into a page directly. To change it, you ask the Bot in the chat panel beside the page, and the Bot edits that same page. You're the director. We're the crew.

## Use a page to learn a concept

A page beats three paragraphs of chat that scroll away. Try this:

```
Make me a page that explains compound
interest. Start simple, add one worked
example, a table of 10 years, and a
slider for the interest rate.
-> explainer + example + table + control
```

You get an explainer, a worked example with real numbers, a table you can scan and a control you can play with. Then steer it. "Too much math. Simpler." "Add a section on what APR means." "Quiz me at the bottom." The Bot edits the same page.

Filters and switches change only what the viewer sees. Nothing you do on the page itself is saved. To change the page for real, ask the Bot. So drag that slider to 40 percent interest and feel rich. It won't save.

A good learning page has:

- One idea per section

- A worked example with real numbers

- A table or chart you can scan

- A "common mistakes" box

- One thing to try, such as a filter or a switch

Ask for all of that in the prompt, or ask for a plain page first and add pieces as you go. A learning page is only as good as what the Bot knows. If it matters, like money, health or law, ask the Bot to show where facts came from, and check them.

## Share a page

A new page is private to you until you share it. The Share menu's main options are people you invite, your Cursor team or anyone with the link. Some teams also see an option for everyone in their organization.

The link option is fully public. The page gets its own address on `pages.grok.bot`, built from the page's title, and anyone with the address can open it without signing in.

- **If it's private, don't link it.** Invite the people who need it instead.

- The address comes from the title, so name pages like a stranger might read them. "Grandma's Secret Lasagna" is a fine title. "Grandma's Bank Login" is not.

- Review or delete shared pages under Shared Canvases on your Cursor dashboard. Deleting a page cuts off everyone who had the link.

## Feed a page your own data

There are three ways to get your information to a Bot:

- **Paste it** into the chat: a list, a table or notes.

- **Attach it** as a file in the chat.

- **Point to it**: something the Bot can already reach, like an app you connected.

Then ask:

```
Here's last month's sales export. Build a
page with totals by product and a chart.
```

How to get a better page out of your data:

- Tell us what the columns mean. A column labeled "stuff 2" isn't as self-explanatory as you think.

- Tell us who will read it. Your boss wants the big number. Your team wants the details.

- Ask for the source to be shown on the page.

- Say what not to include.

- Check the numbers. We double-check too, but it's your data, and you know where the weird rows are.

## Before you share a data page

Look for names, emails, account numbers and salaries. If those are on the page, keep it to invited people. If you want something public, ask the Bot for a version without them and share that one. A second page costs you one sentence. Leaking the first one costs a lot more.

## If you don't see Pages

Pages is rolling out gradually and isn't available on Enterprise teams yet. The help page says to update to version 0.60.0 or later on a computer, or 1.14.0 or later on a phone.

## Recap

- A page is something a Bot builds for you to read.

- To learn something, ask for an explainer, then steer it.

- To share, invite people, and treat links as public.

- With your own data, paste it or attach it, explain it and check what we built.

The prompts and checklists from the video are on the [video downloads page](/downloads/#we-make-the-pages). Thanks to Matt Palmer for the [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pgytha2bLDM) that started this one.
