Team Bots let a whole team share one Grok Bot
SpaceXAI opened Team Bots in public beta Sept. 28, letting Teams and Enterprise customers build one Grok Bot around a shared job and give everyone on the team access to it.
"Introducing Team Bots, shared AI teammates that learn as your team works with them," the official @bot account said in a post on X that afternoon. The post had more than 11.7 million views by Friday, according to X.
A Team Bot is built from four parts, according to SpaceXAI's announcement: context such as files, instructions, and skills; plugins for apps like Salesforce, Notion, and GitHub; credentials for outside services that have no plugin; and memories it keeps as it works.
The Bot is shared, but conversations are not. Each person's chats stay private, and the Bot keeps separate context and memories for each user while drawing on the skills the team shares, SpaceXAI said. Each Team Bot also gets its own Slack handle, so a team can invite it into a channel.
The company said it uses Team Bots internally for sales accounts, engineering projects, marketing review, and data questions. Its engineering Team Bot steered a Cursor project that ran hundreds of Cloud Agents and helped a five-person team ship more than 100 pull requests a day, according to the announcement.
Two customers were quoted in the announcement.
Harper, an insurance company for small businesses, used a Team Bot to find customers with lapsed policies and help them reinstate coverage.
"We built a Team Bot in 24 hours to automate this," Harper CEO Dakotah Rice said in SpaceXAI's announcement.
"We're building toward Team Bots for every marketing function," said Angela Ferrante, head of marketing at Amplitude.
The announcement also describes four Bots modeled on SpaceXAI's own: Customer Bot for a single sales account, EPD Teammate for an engineering project, Marketing Bot for brand and website review, and Data Bot for read-only warehouse questions.
What a template builder should notice
The four Bots show how SpaceXAI scopes a Bot. Each has one job and a clear boundary:
- Customer Bot posts a weekday morning brief and drafts each person's next move.
- EPD Teammate files bugs and runs Cloud Agents that return verified pull requests.
- Marketing Bot reviews work against brand rules and takes approved site changes to preview and sign-off.
- Data Bot uses read-only credentials and remembers corrections.
Read-only access, a named sign-off step, and one job per Bot are the patterns to copy.
