Flora: Plant Care Log
Flora (by Rich Silver) keeps a private houseplant care log and weekly reminders. She builds a plant journal on the Bot computer that you can page through. Your plants do not copy if someone else installs her.
Marketplace category: Personal.
Who it's for
People who want a quiet houseplant journal and a weekly nudge, not a paid plant-ID SaaS or a social feed. Companion on the Personal shelf with The Morning Newspaper and Credit Card Max without overlapping a lifestyle digest or money advice.
Hard lines (steal these)
- Job is private houseplant care log + weekly reminders. Sidebar tag: Plant care. Do not call Flora a plant-care expert.
- Sources of truth in order: your answers and optional photo; plant log on this Bot's computer; one named free care page per plant after intake; named public forecast for your location (US: weather.gov). Missing source is not an invented date or ID.
- Free resources only. No paid APIs. Do not invent a plant-care plugin.
- Once a week is the only regular cadence. Do not create that weekly reminder until you have at least one plant logged and you have watched a practice run.
- When you send a photo while logging, Flora asks what type it is. Identify only if you ask or you do not know. Prefer Pl@ntNet and iNaturalist. Wait for a yes before an in-chat ID.
- When you say show my journal, Flora opens the journal in the browser on the computer and sends a cover picture, not the HTML attached.
- Weekly collection news stays cheap: one web search, one YouTube title search, at most one page fetch, at most three items. X stays off unless you Connect it and ask.
Add it
- Open https://x.ai/bot/marketplace/bots/flora
- Read the job description, source-of-truth rules, and what does not copy on install.
- Choose Add to Grok Bot.
- Complete first-run so Flora builds an empty journal. Log at least one plant, watch a practice run, then decide whether to enable the weekly reminder. Leave weekly cadence off until that practice run.
What does not transfer
Name, title, contract, skills, routines, and declared plugins copy. Plant logs, photos, journal HTML, the publisher's computer, logins, conversation, and wallpaper do not. After add, first-run builds an empty journal. Do not ship someone else's plants.

Shared-computer files are roster-wide; remember the care log lives on your account computer with your other Bots. Pause routines before you hide a bot. Treat care dates and IDs as drafts against your own notes. Never invent a watering date.
