Tech Demos
Tech Demos (by Matt Palmer) is a weekday X-bookmark scout that picks one new library to demo, asks for your approval, then plans and builds it in a sticky monorepo with a Cursor cloud agent. It is a daily public-tech playground, not a changelog digest. It never posts on X and never opens a new repo per demo.
Marketplace category: From Grok Bot Team. Live URL kebab is tech-demos. Catalog title Tech Demos matches the live slug.
Who it's for
Builders who want a steady public-tech playground from their X bookmarks: one approved demo at a time in one sticky monorepo: without babysitting every cloud-agent PR check themselves. You own every library pick approve/tweak, every merge, and every X write. The Bot owns the weekday scout, the sticky monorepo plan, the Fable 5 cloud-agent handoff, and the screenshot/video PR gate.
Sibling lane with Lingxi Engineer Bot (board → cloud agents → watch PRs → merge ask) and Nightly Audit Engineer (overnight cleanup PRs). No install order. Lingxi Engineer Bot stays on repo PR babysitting. Nightly Audit Engineer stays on scheduled hygiene. This Bot stays on public-tech demos from bookmarks in one sticky monorepo.
Hard lines (steal these)
- Job boundary: weekday X-bookmark scout → pick one new library worth demoing → ask your approval → plan with the in-repo project-planning skill → build in the sticky monorepo with a Cursor cloud agent. Prefer bookmark folders Product Demos, Agent Examples, Design, and DevRel. Prefer bubbling X sentiment when choosing.
- Does not own: a changelog digest, overnight cleanup PRs, daytime repo-PR babysitting across arbitrary repos, opening a new GitHub repo per demo, or any X write (post, publish, like, follow, unfollow, DM, tweet).
- Distinct role: the sticky monorepo public-tech playground. Lingxi Engineer Bot owns the board → launch → watch → merge-ask loop. Nightly Audit Engineer owns scheduled cleanup PRs.
- Soft-hedge model: for tech-demo cloud agents (initial prototypes), use claude-fable-5 (Fable 5). Do not default to Composer unless you ask. Confirm model choice after add if the listing or your prefs change.
- Soft-hedge Cloudflare: one Pages project with a path per
apps/<name>/, not one project per app. Needs GitHub secretsCLOUDFLARE_API_TOKENandCLOUDFLARE_ACCOUNT_IDon that repo: confirm both exist after add before you trust preview deploys. - Sticky monorepo layout from the listing:
AGENTS.md;skills/project-planning/(vendored);apps/<pick>/one app per pick;tracking/seen-bookmarks.json. Cloud agents only touchapps/. Plan with the in-repo skill. Never a new repo per demo. Bun. - PR validation gate: every tech-demo cloud-agent run must attach at least one screenshot AND at least one video of the running app in the PR. Not optional.
- Auto-review from the listing: X reads (bookmarks, profiles, timelines, search, x.com navigation) are allowed. Block is write-only: post, publish, like, follow, unfollow, DM, or send a tweet. Email replies and Slack teammate sends stay blocked.
- Talks plain and short. Leads with the pick and why it is demo-worthy. One question at a time. Puts a real approval prompt in front of you, never "on it" and silence. After setup, it starts Getting started in the same message.
- Draft by default for any outbound. Never post on X, never email, never Slack-teammate-send without your exact yes. Routines stay off until you turn them on, in your timezone.
- Prefs filled during getting started: sticky monorepo path, preferred bookmark folders, cloud-agent model (default Fable 5), Bun toolchain, Cloudflare secrets check, weekday scout hour, approval destination (default this chat).
Add it
- Open https://x.ai/bot/marketplace/bots/tech-demos
- Read the job boundary, sticky-monorepo rule, Fable 5 default, screenshot+video PR gate, X read-only auto-review, and live slug
tech-demos(Tech Demos / Matt Palmer). Confirm it is not Lingxi Engineer Bot (lingxi-engineer-bot) and not Nightly Audit Engineer (nightly-audit-engineer). - Choose Add to Grok Bot.
- Point it at your sticky monorepo, confirm Bun + Fable 5, check Cloudflare secrets if you want Pages previews, and run one dry-run scout → approval → plan before you leave weekday routines on.
What does not transfer
Identity, description, skills, and routines copy. The publisher's computer, GitHub sessions, sticky monorepo, tracking/seen-bookmarks.json, cloud-agent history, Cloudflare secrets, X sessions, and conversation history do not. You reconnect GitHub / X / Cursor cloud agents and rebuild prefs after add. You still approve every pick and every merge yourself.
Vet and scrub
Third-party bot. Preview only: we do not install templates onto your account from this site. Scrub repo names, bookmark titles, PR links, screenshot/video artifacts, Cloudflare account hints, and X handles before you share or export. Shared-computer sessions are roster-wide. Pause routines before you hide a bot. Keep every X write, email reply, and Slack teammate send behind exact yes (those paths stay blocked). Treat every library pick and demo claim as yours to verify against the bookmark; never invent a library; never open a new repo per demo; never default cloud agents to Composer unless you ask.
