Grok Bot 0.75.2 adds videos, Shop Pay and pinned Library items
Grok Bots can now make videos from a written description or a picture you share, pay with Shop Pay, and add, change or delete several Google Calendar events in one step, according to release notes SpaceXAI posted for Grok Bot 0.75.2.
The changelog entry is dated Oct. 22 and titled "Pages, new chat cards, and video creation." It also folds in versions 0.72.0 through 0.75.1, so it covers eight days of updates since the 0.71.2 notes dated Oct. 14.
Pages, the reports, memos and dashboards a Bot builds and keeps current, lead the notes. GG covered them Oct. 22 in Grok Bot now builds pages and Make your first Grok Bot page and share it safely. Here's the rest of what changed for everyday users.
Videos
"Bots can create videos from a description or from an image you share," the notes say. Another line says "a task the Bot hands off can create images and videos for the chat," so work a Bot passes to a helper can come back to your conversation as pictures or video.
The notes don't say how long a video can run or whether making one costs extra.
Justine Moore (@venturetwins), an a16z partner according to the account's X bio, posted a test the evening of Oct. 22: "I asked Grok Bot to make a video about itself. / It did everything - set the storyline, found clips, cut and stitched them, and added the titles and music." Elon Musk reposted it.
Paying
"Bots can pay with Shop Pay, through Shop checkout where a store accepts it and with a one-time Shop card elsewhere," the notes say. Shop Pay is the stored checkout from Shopify, the online-store company.
X Money got easier to hook up. "You can connect X Money in one tap from a chat, the connector page, or checkout, after signing in to X if no X account is linked." GG covered X Money and Stripe Link payments Oct. 14 in Grok Bot can now pay with X Money or Stripe Link.
And when the Bot asks how you want to pay, "you choose on a card."
Your Library
"You can pin Library pages, files, and links to a Pinned section that stays at the top and syncs across your devices." The Library is the place in the app that holds the pages, files and links your Bots have made or you have shared.
Hovering over a Library row now "shows a preview with who sent the item, when, and who can see a Page." The dashboard also has a Pages section that "lists the Pages you've shared, where you can unshare or delete them."
Gmail, Calendar and other connectors
Connectors are the links that let a Bot work inside another app. Several got stronger:
- Gmail: "The built-in Gmail connection can attach files to drafts and sends, reply all, add a note when forwarding, and set label colors." A fix says emails a Bot sends through Gmail now "show your name and the signature saved for that address, and reply drafts stay in their thread."
- Google Calendar: "Bots can create, update, or delete several Google Calendar events in one step, and edited events no longer shift to a different time."
- GitHub: the connector "can list your repositories, compare commits, list a pull request's commits, and read branch and issue comments."
- Zoho CRM is new. You can connect it "and choose your account's regional data center before you sign in."
When you name a service, "the Bot shows that connector's connect card in its first reply." When a connector signs you out, "the Bot says why, such as a restricted Google account, and how to fix it."
Routines
A routine is a saved job your Bot runs on a schedule or when something happens. Two changes:
- "Routines can read the Bot's inboxes," meaning the email address a Bot can have of its own.
- "When a routine hits a signed-out connector, the chat shows that connector's Reconnect card, at most once a day."
Approvals and safety
Approval cards from Auto-review, the check that runs before a Bot does something risky, now "describe the action in one sentence, name the app with its logo, and flag irreversible or sensitive changes."
"The Bot opens links before sending them and leaves out broken ones."
"The first email a Bot sends to someone new includes a one-click unsubscribe link."
"Deleting a Bot permanently erases its conversations, memory, routines, and attachments, and removes its Slack app."
Memory and voice
"What a personal Bot saves to memory in one chat is remembered in all your chats with it, and only you can change it."
"Voice calls can draw on your earlier calls and recent chat with the Bot." A fix says voice calls "survive network drops and crashes," and "the Bot can answer while you're muted."
Small things you'll notice
- "Cards in chat have a new design, from approvals and questions to files, links, and tables."
- "A keyboard shortcuts sheet opens with ⌘/" on a Mac.
- Typing > at the start of a line in the message box starts a block quote.
- You can drag attachments into a different order before you send.
For Teams and Enterprise
The changelog labels these for business accounts:
- "Page owners can share a Page with their whole organization or with another team in it."
- "Team admins can limit who can share Pages with everyone on the team."
- "Team Bot owners and managers can let collaborators create routines from Configure."
- Enterprise team admins "can permanently delete a member's Grok Bot data from Manage Member Computers and Data in Security & Compliance, or through the Admin API."
Not in these notes: your phone's apps
Also on Oct. 22, the official @bot account posted, "Grok Bot can now use Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, and more apps on your phone. / Rolling out now on iOS and Android." That feature does not appear in the 0.75.2 notes. GG explains how to turn it on, one permission at a time, in Let Grok Bot use your phone's apps.
Brian Roemmele (@BrianRoemmele) wrote on X that night, "Grok Bot 0.75.2 is awesome. / SpaceXSI is moving fast with new features daily." Musk reposted it.
What to do with it
- Update first. Check that the app shows 0.75.2 or later before you try anything below.
- Ask for a short video. Give your Bot one sentence or one photo and ask for a short clip. The notes don't list a length limit or a price, so start small.
- Pin what you open every day. Pin your top two or three Library items so they sit at the top on every device.
- Batch your calendar. Ask for a week of recurring events, or a sweep of old ones to delete, in one request instead of one at a time.
- Read the new approval cards. They now flag changes you can't undo. Slow down on those.
- Check what you've shared. Open the dashboard's Pages section and unshare anything that no longer needs a public link.
