Install Grok Bot and sign in with Cursor
Install the Grok Bot desktop app and sign in with your Cursor account. There is no separate Grok Bot login.
Before you download
You need:
- An eligible plan: SuperGrok Plus, SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Pro+, Cursor Ultra, or Cursor Teams Standard or Premium
- A computer for the desktop app (macOS, Windows, or Linux per the current downloads page)
- A supported Cursor privacy setting (Legacy Privacy Mode blocks Grok Bot)
Use the official plans list. Launch-day videos that name only SuperGrok Heavy or Ultra are outdated on access.
Install
Open the Grok Bot downloads page and pick the build for your machine.
macOS
- 1. Choose Apple silicon or Intel (Apple menu → About This Mac: Chip means Apple silicon; Processor means Intel).
- 2. Open the disk image.
- 3. Drag Grok Bot to Applications.
- 4. Open it. If macOS asks, choose Open.
Windows
- 1. Choose x64 or Arm64 (Settings → System → About → System type).
- 2. Run the installer.
- 3. Open Grok Bot from the Start menu.
Linux
Official builds publish with stable releases (.deb, .rpm, or AppImage; x64 or Arm64). Install or run the package for your distribution, then open Grok Bot from your launcher.
The app checks for updates on its own. You can also use Check for Updates from Settings.
Sign in with Cursor
- 1. Choose Get started on the welcome screen. If you are already in the app, use Sign In with Cursor from Settings.
- 2. Finish authentication in the browser window that opens.
- 3. Return to Grok Bot after the browser confirms.
If your organization uses SSO, complete the normal organization sign-in.
On first use, the app introduces Bots, the shared computer, and routines, then asks which tools you use. Those answers shape teammate suggestions. They do not connect Gmail, Slack, or anything else by themselves. Computer setup runs in the background. The last onboarding step opens Meet a future teammate.
Open Settings from the account menu (sidebar) or Cmd/Ctrl+,.
What you should have
The app installed, your Cursor account signed in, and the Meet a future teammate step ready. Next in the beginner pillar: create one Bot and put the job in the description.
Do not build a team yet. Do not schedule a routine yet. Do not sign the shared computer into anything sensitive until you understand that every Bot on your account shares that machine.
