How to approve a Grok Bot phone call and step in mid-call

Tip · Nov. 5, 2026

Grok Bot now places phone calls for you, and you stay in control from the first ring to the last word. Here's how to run a call from start to finish, based on the official demo.

1. Set your limits in the ask. Tell the Bot who to call, what you want and what it must not agree to. In the demo, the user added, "And don't let them talk me into a discount." Be just as plain: a price ceiling, a date you can't move, an account change you don't want.

2. Read the Phone call card. Before dialing, the Bot shows a "Phone call" card with a question such as "Call your internet provider?" Check that it names the right business. If it doesn't, or you've changed your mind, tap Cancel.

3. Tap Call. Nothing is dialed until you do.

4. Watch the transcript. A live transcript runs on screen while the call happens. Skim it as it goes, the way you would listen in on a speakerphone.

5. Take over or hang up. If the conversation heads somewhere you don't like, tap "Take over" to handle it yourself. Tap "End call" to stop it.

6. Know the rules. The calling rules in Grok Bot's Terms, section 2.7, apply to every call. Our earlier guide on having Grok Bot call a business covers them in plain language. Read it before your first call.

Start small. Pick a call you've been putting off, like checking a bill, and stay on the transcript the whole way through.
